Behavioral Health Accreditations and Approvals
Western Schools is accredited as a continuing education home study provider for Behavioral Health professionals by the following accrediting bodies:

Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
Western Schools, provider # 1147, is approved as a provider for social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) www.aswb.org, through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Western Schools maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval. Social workers participating in these courses will receive the specified number of continuing education clock hours.

National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) - Provider #6257
Western Schools is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP™) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for courses that meet NBCC requirements. Western Schools is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.

California Board of Behavioral Sciences (California BBS)

In addition to the above accreditations:
Some state licensing boards allow behavioral health professionals to meet their continuing education requirements by taking courses offered by an ANCC accredited provider so long as such courses contribute to their professional competence.

American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Western Schools is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

It is the responsibility of each professional licensee to understand what his or her state licensing board requires for license renewal, as well as what that licensing board identifies as acceptable continuing education. Please contact your board for verification if you are unsure of your continuing education requirements.
