West Virginia LPN Requirements

 RNs in West Virginia are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education every year. Includes 2 hours related to mental health conditions common in veterans, and 1 hour drug diversion and best practice prescribing of controlled substance training.     LPNs in West Virginia are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years. Includes 3 hours of substance abuse (every renewal), 2 hours related to mental health conditions common in veterans, and 2 hours related to end of life care with pain management (one time only). 
  • West Virginia Board of Registered Nurses Approved Provider #WV1996-0076RN
  • Western Schools is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
  • Nursing boards in all states requiring continuing education accept courses offered by ANCC accredited providers.
